Estructuras del Texto #2 EN TELAR DE ESTROFAS 2016 11 x 8.5 inches Canvas, linen, muslin, embroidery floss, paper Estructura del Texto translates as 'structure of the text.' The arrangement of letters into patterns inside a page alludes to textile geometries. The loom in which textiles are woven, like the page, is an organizing structure where different elements come together to give form and compose. Text / textile share the Latin root texere: to weave. This piece is based on Dianna Frids eponymous artists book: it's entire sequence is shown in the BOOKS section of this website. close[x] |
